About this collection

Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum's Painting Collection consists of outstanding examples of early western style Turkish paintings as well as works by foreign artists who worked in Istanbul during late Ottoman times. The collection focuses mainly on the 1850-1950 period and includes works by local artists Raphael, Konstantin Kapıdağlı, Osman Hamdi Bey, Şeker Ahmed Paşa, Süleyman Seyyid, Nazmi Ziya Güran, İbrahim Çallı, Feyhaman Duran and Fikret Mualla, and by foreign artists like Fausto Zonaro and Ivan Ayvazovski.
